Digital Photography
You will learn all aspects of the use of digital photography in dental practice, including intra-oral, extra-oral, and portraits. Participants will be taken through photography, from the basics of choosing correct equipment and setting it up, to the optimum settings, techniques for consistent imaging and the safe storage of images.
Basic Life Support / CPR
Be informed/reminded of all regulation and guidance relative to managing medical emergencies in the dental practice. By the end of the course you will have sufficient knowledge to carry out defibrillation assisted cardio pulmonary resuscitation. Understand legislation and guidance specific to dental practice medical emergency management.
Dental Impression Taking
This 3 hour CPD course will provide you with the theoretical knowledge and skills needed in order to take impressions of patients to the prescription of a dentist. The course includes, clinical patient management, dental impression materials, restorative dentistry procedures, cross infection control and handling of dental impressions.
Cross Infection Control
This 3 hour CPD course will provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed in order to maintain a clinical environment with the most up to date Cross Infection Guidelines. This course covers, how to prepare and maintain clinical areas according to cross infection standards and guidelines, understand the importance of cross infection control ad be able to prevent and manage blood bourne viruses
Endodontic Nursing
By the end of the course you will be able to, describe current theoretical knowledge of root canal treatment and demonstrate practical skills to assist chairside with all stages of root canal treatment.
Fluoride Application
This course will provide the practical and theoretical knowledge and skills needed in order for dental nurses to competently apply topical fluoride to adult and child patients with a prescription of a dentist. This course we will cover, clinical patient management, Oral disease, preventative dentistry, types offluoride, importance of fluoride application and RoC assessment..
Health & Safety
This course will allow you to understand, provide and maintain a healthy and safe work environment. The course gives current guidelines, procedures and protocols in health & safet, provides audit tools to confirm legal requirements are met in the practice, covers RIDDOR, COSHH and waste disposal. The course also discusses PUWER and other regulations, manual handling and ergonomics.
Topical Anaesthetic Application
This three hour CPD course will provide theoretical knowledge and skills needed in order to competently apply topical anaesthetic. You will learn about clinical patient management related to topical anaesthetic application, topical anaesthetics, preparation of working areas, topical anaesthetic application procedure (step by step), maintaining clinical records, benefits and complications of treatment.
Dental Safeguarding
This course will teach you to understand the types of harm / abuse and how to recognise them. Following this course you will have sufficient knowledge to appropriately whistle blow and report safeguarding issues. You will also understand legislation, guidance and preventative measures relevant to safeguarding.
Dental First Aid
During this comprehensive course, participants will gain new knowledge and refresh existing knowledge needed to correctly assess and assist casualties in dental settings. The course aims to equip the dental team with the skills, the know-how and the confidence to save a patient’s life, but can also be applied outside of dental settings.
